  • Oil for frying
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • Teriyaki marinade
  • Hoisin sauce
  • Soy sauce
  • Sesame oil
  • Korean seasoning optional but adds restaurant-style flavor
  • Meat of choice chicken, beef, pork, or shrimp
  • Veggies of choice onion, cabbage, carrots, broccoli, etc.

Method

  1. Prepare the noodles according to the package instructions and set aside.
  2. Heat oil in a large pan or wok over medium-high heat.
  3. Add your meat of choice and cook until fully done.
  4. Add the veggies and stir fry until softened and lightly charred.
  5. Add the cooked noodles to the pan and fry them for 1–2 minutes.
  6. Stir in the minced garlic, letting it cook until fragrant.
  7. Add teriyaki marinade, hoisin sauce, soy sauce, sesame oil, and Korean seasoning, mixing until everything is coated evenly.
  8. Continue tossing until the noodles soak up the sauce and the stir fry becomes glossy and flavorful.
  9. Serve hot and enjoy your homemade Mongolian grill stir fry.

Notes

  • Yakisoba noodles give the most authentic Mongolian grill texture, but chow mein works well too.
  • Add more teriyaki for sweetness, more soy sauce for saltiness, or extra sesame oil for nuttier flavor.
  • This recipe works with chicken, beef, pork, shrimp, tofu, or a combination.
  • Great for meal prep—leftovers reheat perfectly.
