Ingredients
Method
- Cut mozzarella string cheese sticks in half and freeze for at least 30–60 minutes. This keeps them from melting too fast.
- Set up three bowls:
- Bowl 1: Flour mixed with Italian seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper
- Bowl 2: Whisked eggs
- Bowl 3: Italian breadcrumbs
- Dip each frozen cheese stick into the seasoned flour, then into the egg, then into the breadcrumbs. For extra crispiness, repeat the egg and breadcrumb step for a double coating.
- Place coated sticks on a tray and freeze again for 15–20 minutes.
- Heat oil in a deep pot or skillet to 350–365°F.
- Fry mozzarella sticks in batches for about 1–2 minutes until golden and crispy. Do not overcrowd the pan.
- Remove and place on a paper towel-lined plate.
- Serve immediately with warm marinara. Top with parsley and freshly grated parmesan if desired.
